British Standards Institution, responsible for publishing national guidelines to aid UK organizations, has developed a new standard which can be used as a toolkit for organizations to build a menstruation and menopause inclusive work environment. This standard will benefit both employees, by providing adjustments and creating a supportive open culture, and employers, by improving the engagement of staff in turn also reducing the loss of staff and associated costs. Included are practical ideas and examples of adjustments which can inform policy development and inform change.
BS 30416 provides guidance on physical aspects, cultural improvements, Job design adjustments, training and communication, job design and policy considerations.
